PREVENTIVE EARLY ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT METHOD
The ideal time for treatment with LM-Activator™ is in early mixed dentition when the first teeth are changing. LM-Activator™ aligns teeth, activates mandibular growth, and expands the arch perimeter in mixed dentition. The use of the appliance corrects and aligns sagittal and vertical relationships simultaneously. No separate phases are needed.
- The occlusion can be controlled in a three-dimensional way.
- LM-Activator™ is suitable for treating excess Overbite or Deep Bite, excess Overjet, Open Bite, Crowding, anterior Crossbite, and Class II or Class II tendency.
Choosing the model
The two basic model features are:
Low is applicaple to correct excess overjet, excess overbite, deep bite, Class II and dental anterior crossbite.
High is applicaple to correct open bite.
These are available with shorter or longer molar sections:
Short model for patients whose second molars have not yet erupted.
Long model for patients whose
second molars have erupted.
Selecting the size
LM-OrthoSizer™ is a tool for aiding the selection of the appropriate LM-Activator™ size. The size is indicative and LM-Activator™ should always be fitted to ensure the correct
size.

Description of the My LM-Activator™ models
The Low model is suitable for treating many different malocclusions: excess Overjet, excess Overbite/Deep bite, anterior Crowding, dentoalveolar anterior Crossbite, rotated anterior teeth, Class II, Scissor bite / Complete mandibular posterior lingual Crossbite or Gummy smile.
The Low Short model (yellow) with a shorter molar section when the second molars have not yet erupted.
The Low Long model (blue) with a longer molar section when the second molars have erupted or are about to erupt.
The High model is thicker in the region of second premolars and molars. It is designed for treating skeletal and dentoalveolar Open bite cases.
The High Short model (orange) with a shorter molar section when the second molars have not yet erupted.
The High Long model (green) with a longer molar section when the second molars have erupted or are about to erupt.
LM-Trainer™
LM-Trainer™ can be used in deciduous dentition, e.g. before LM-Activator™ treatment. It can also be used in functional education and for habit correction, e.g. reverse swallowing and mouth breathing, when harmful oral habits risk causing malocclusions.
LM-OrthoSizer™
LM-OrthoSizer™ is a measure for aiding the selection of the appropriate size. It measures the distance across the upper incisors and indicates the corresponding size.
LM 9402 LM-Activator™ 2 OrthoSizer™
LM 9402 measures the distance across the upper incisors from the distal surface of the left lateral incisor to the distal surface of the right lateral incisor. It is to be used with My LM-Activator™ and LM-Activator™ 2 series. The accuracy is improved with separate measures for mandible and maxilla.
LM 9400 LM-OrthoSizer™
LM 9400 measures the distance across the upper incisors from the distal surface of the left lateral incisor to the distal surface of the right lateral incisor.
Both are compatible with LM™ mirror handles (LM 25 SI/XSI/ES, LM 28 XSI/ES).
